We heard great things about the river cruises down the Rhine and Danube Rivers on Viking Cruise Lines. The history along these shores is tremendous spanning 1000’s years. It was a very satisfying cruise with fantastic tours. We enjoyed all of the stops and we really enjoyed Amsterdam, Cologne and Vienna. Unfortunately our timing wasn’t (or was depending on your prospective) great as most stops were during city, country and religious holidays. Thus, many of the shops were closed. However, the parks were filled with celebrations and there was an ample number of street vendors. We toured castles and homes of the royalty & rulers and we toured the cities where the commoners lived. There was a lot of beer bars &/or restaurants. We toured a ton of churches some of which were having mass or services and others, though, majestic and beautifully adorned they were mere landmarks of history as worshippers and support had dwindled to nearly nothing. Truly sad. Bottom line was it was a fabulous historic review. The Viking Ve was a good experience as a whole though there was limited entertainment after dinner.

Cabin Review

It was a nice large room on the main deck.
