We wanted to visit the Aquitaine and decided this cruise would orient us which it did. We very much enjoyed the trips to Margaux and St. Emilion. We loved the dinner at the Chateau which the crew put on for us. It was extremely special and memorable. We chose this cruise because it featured the wine country and after the cruise we rented a house in Julliac for a week. I loved the trip to the Bordeau market with the chef. It was a highlight for me. We had suite 341 which was nice, but we have become spoiled by the Ocean cruises we have enjoyed, which are much roomier. We have had 3 river cruises and 2 ocean cruises, and now are set on the larger boats when we go on another.
The crew did a fine job and our cruise director was fabulous. Loved his briefings and the French lessons with "Pierre". The venues we visited were all special, but I wish we had been able to go further. As always, the ship was incredibly clean and the crew was personable and welcoming.
I don't know what category our stateroom was - I would guess AA. It was 341, and relatively large... but on the ocean cruises the same category of cabin (Explorer Suite) is much larger with a large deck. Our deck was tiny. The housekeeping staff did a great job with the cleaning. We seldom saw them but everything was perfect. Loved the fresh flowers and daily cookie delivery.
