Cruising the Rhine and Danube was on our bucket list, and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire cruise. We have a lot of interest in World War II history, and the ports along the way offered insights that were very interesting to us. The beauty of the area we were cruising through was wonderful, as the Fall colors were just starting to appear. Watching as the castles and small villages went by was so relaxing and beautiful. The service of everyone on the Viking staff was absolutely first rate. It was easy to manage every aspect of the cruise because of their wonderful attention to every detail. Our balcony cabin was very comfortable, and our room steward made sure we always had everything we wanted. The small number of passengers (160) allowed us to get to know many of the other passengers during the 14-day trip, and we made some wonderful new friends that we are staying in touch with. Meals were very good, with a nice selection to choose from every meal. The excursions were very organized, and every single guide we had was great. Viking does a good job of putting that together for their guests. We would definitely recommend Viking for this itinerary.
