We chose this cruise because we heard great things about Viking and wanted a non-Alaska US cruise. We greatly enjoyed the experience. The ship was fabulous and a great size. Our accommodations were very comfortable. The crew was the highlight of the trip, from the great care our room steward gave us, the fabulous chefs and wait staff, the experts on board, and the captain and his staff. Everyone went out of their way to make this a great trip. My wife is celiac, and they had lots of gluten free options. The hikes were well led but we did not visit many places to experience those who live on the lakes. The trip to Fort William was very informative and more trips like that would have added to the outstanding experience. The best part of the trip were all the great fellow travelers on board. We made a lot of new friends and enjoyed sharing stories. We are greatly looking forward to our next Viking cruise this November.
