The ship was gorgeous! Obviously one of the cabin designers was a woman because there were more drawers and closet space than on any other ship I've been on( and I have been on 25+ cruises)! Heated bathroom floor, two sinks, heated towel rack....Viking spares no expense with luxuries! Thermal pool and spa services were fabulous!
We ate at Manfredi's, The Restaurant and the World Cafe for dinner........I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the quality of the food! When we got on board, I was walking around the world cafe and there was a baker kneading some bread. I asked him if the ship had Croissants(my favorite) and he went to a cooling rack and pulled out two just for me!
The only negative thing I can say about the voyage was that there was a lack of communication between the crew and the passengers. Someone decided to forgo Point Pelee and no one was told about this. On the flip side, we did get a day in Toronto, which was very nice, with a shuttle to the St. Lawrence Market.
The cabin stewards were top notch!! My husband has a bad back, so they got an additional mattress topper and extra blankets. Never have w ever experienced cabin stewards that were that wonderful. Brought us ginger ale for the fridge and little snacks daily. They gave us a box of fudge from Mackinac Island in our room. They explained that Viking built the picture window instead of a balcony because the ship goes to Antarctica, and thus you have extra room in your cabin. Binoculars, books to read, and a desk with many charging ports were all included.
