We chose this cruise as my husband and I have mainly been on ocean cruises, and wanted to experience a river cruise. We have sailed on Viking ocean before, so we felt that choosing Viking River cruise would be a safe bet. The itinerary was well chosen, but it was the optional tour to Rothenburg ob de Tauber (in Germany) that was our absolute favorite! The old part of the city was wonderfully preserved, and the village was absolutely gorgeous. Flower boxes and climbing trellises were abundant on almost every building, and added to the charm of the town. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and didn’t disappoint in any aspect of our tour.

Food on the Idi was fabulous. A variety of food and wine specialities based on the area that we visited was presented nightly for our choosing. Wonderful service and attention to detail was evident in the dining room. Malin and Linette took good care of our table, and offered suggestions if needed.

Our tour director Andrew was wonderful! His sense of humor and positive attitude kept things moving and lively. He helped make our trip, and we enjoyed his pre-dinner briefings on the next day activities.
