We are Viking cruisers and went on this particular cruise with friends. To say we had a great time would not describe near enough the stellar experience we had on this trip. My husband had a few difficult days health wise and the staff was absolutely far and away beyond caring and efficient in helping him. The concierge recommended an on shore dr whom we visited and received excellent care. The same concierge delivered the dr's fee in euros the next day for us, (we only had American dollars the dr would not accept). We were relieved, calmed of stress, and tremendously appreciative for the efforts of the front desk staff!
We cannot say enough for the excellent service of the tour director on this ship. She was really wonderful. The travel agent for two of our friends booked their trip on the Viking ship leaving for the same places as us accidently on the ship leaving one day after us. When the error was realized, the Modi staff and especially the tour director did EVERYTHING they could to correct the mixup and pair us up with our friends, to no avail. We were very disappointed, our friends were heartbroken as we had all planned a long time for this trip. Ultimately, our friends didn't check their papers more carefully, but the Modi's efforts to correct the situation was very over the top caring.
On a daily basis, the tour director and her staff did a stellar job making sure our trip was a success, providing helpful service all week, and were never, ever, without a smile. The food was delicious, the stewards above and beyond helpful, and the ship sparkling clean. We had a wonderful time. We will surely do Viking again.
To be sure, the cabins were very, very small. I don't know the category from the list above, but we did have a balcony that was very nice and allowed us at times to enjoy the sights in the privacy of our cabin.
The stewards were excellent, courteous, and efficient. They took very good care of us, all the time.
By the end of the trip, we were a little used to the small surroundings. We joked to ourselves that we could sit in most places in the cabin and reach nearly everything. Still, it was doable.
