Had been on Viking river cruises and loved them. This was our first Ocean with Viking. Good stuff first:

Dubrovnik Croatia was a pleasant surprise. Barcelona was amazing, guide was excellent. Go a few days early - so much to see! Boat was spotless and perfectly maintained, housekeeping excellent. Had a number of restaurant/bar options. Service overall was good, although not nearly as personal as the river cruises. Penthouse Jr Suite very comfortable and well appointed. Evening entertainment was all excellent. Spa treatments 5 star. Now the not-so-good:

Monte Carlo, our #1 destination, was skipped due to high winds/waves, which we questioned since there was no sign of it as we passed by. Credit not required by contract, however Viking has done that in the past so we were surprised with just apology letter. Corfu excursion was a disappointment - a sad hand-made soap "factory" and a dirty diner for ouzo (in the morning). We saw more appealing options on our walk through town. Read more
