First-time cruisers! We selected Viking as we have several friends who have sailed with them, and they had nothing but rave reviews. Based on those reviews and what we have seen online, we finally had to give it a try. And, it exceeded our expectations! From the time we left the airport until we embarked, everything was taken care of. The meet-up at the arrival airport, the handling of the luggage, our trip to the ship... every little detail was thought of and taken care of so that there was no stress. We extended for two (2) days in Rome, and once again, disembarkation and transportation to our hotel (which was beautiful and located in the perfect spot), was handled with no problems.

We participated in the included excursions at each port, and once again, all details were taken care of -- you knew what time to show up, what you needed, and the guides were informative and delightful! We also took advantage of an optional Florence tour (wonderful sights). The Daily Newsletter that is provided was so helpful and appreciated!

Aside from the tours, we loved the entertainment: The ABBA Tribute was wonderful - so talented! The pianist, violinist, vocalist -- all of these touches made you feel like you were somewhere special. We also visited the night club a couple of times - fun atmosphere and the singer and band were so talented! The energy in that room! My husband enjoyed the dining venues and access to the several bars/beverage sources. And, with well over a thousand people on this ship, we never felt crowded. We never waited for anything. Read more
