This was our first Viking ocean cruise. Always felt welcome on board. The food and service were top flight. Passengers should tip more generously. With 900 passengers on board, we never felt crowded. There was one instance when we were unable to find 4 seats in a lounge during a pre dinner happy hour. There are a few things that Viking can improve including the restaurant reservation process and in empowering the crew to make more decisions on board without constantly having to get approvals from onshore management. The shore excursions were well curated, though it was hard to differentiate from other cruise lines. One issue is that too many of the onshore activities have very long and uncomfortable bus rides. We also felt uncomfortable that the crew, while vaccinated and restricted from getting off the boat, were required to wear masks. We just booked another Viking cruise for next year and are happy to strongly recommend Viking..
