I loved our last Celebrity cruise and did miss the wonderful front facing lounge on the Solstice Class ship. The Edge was beautiful, but lacked some of the more comfortable lounge areas. I found the entertainment to largely be very good, only a couple misses on a 12 day cruise is hardly room for complaint. However, they clearly did not have the staff necessary for this particular cruise which I heard was more full than prior ones. Wait times at the bars and in the included restaurants could be significant. There also appeared to be inexperienced bar staff as orders sometimes were not what you expected. I thought with four types of included restaurants the menus would be diverse, but found them rather redundant throughout the cruise. The additional paid for dining at Eden though was out of this world, definitely worth the expense. I enjoyed Fine Cuts Steakhouse as well but should have come hungrier to do it justice. Getting on and off the ship was efficient but do not go on the White Mountain Jeep Tour via Celebrity while in Crete. 25 yr old Jeeps that desperately needed maintenance, driver couldn't get it into second gear without difficulty and emergency break went our on return ride. Too scary given the conditions of no guardrails and spinning tires on the dirt and rock in many steep places. Not to mention they pack you in with 1 in the passenger seat, 3 in the rear and 4 on benches in the back (all three jeeps were full). The shore excursion desk was not interested in my feedback and didn't even pretend to take notes but hopefully someone will do something before there is an incident. The ship is clean and room staff wonderful. I couldn't give it a five star review though given the bar and restaurant staffing which hopefully they will correct if the ships remain fairly full.

Concierge Class Stateroom with Veranda

Celebrity Edge Concierge Class #12172 was lovely and comfortable. The infinite veranda was great but visibility was a bit impaired as the room was just below the magic carpet which stayed on the floor above (14, but there is no 13) so we couldn't see the sky. Make sure you are clear of this obstruction
