Sail Date: Sep 2022

Having sailed with a number of cruise lines, my husband and I prefer the serenity, dignity, and quality offered by Viking.

Two months prior to this September 2022 cruise we had taken a family cruise with Royal Caribbean, and the differences between RC and Viking were stark. The Royal Caribbean cruise, while fun for the younger crowd in our group, was loud, frenetic and boisterous, and the food was mediocre. My husband & I are in our late 60’s, and we appreciate the fascinating, entertaining lectures and the excellent food that are always offered on Viking.

I do wish that there were more physical opportunities on hand - I wanted to play ping pong and basketball with our friends but these sports were not available. We did enjoy learning how to play shuffleboard, though, and we enjoyed several games of Scrabble. We were disappointed to find that the electronic table games we’d enjoyed on the Viking Orion were not available on the Star.
