We have long planned to travel to the Scandinavian countries and Viking gave us a two week dream come true . We were wowed every day of site seeing! The tours and guides were outstanding! The sites we saw were amazing- One beautiful site after another. The touring could not have been any better! The food on board was wonderful! The selections of "destination" meals were always delicious! We enjoyed visiting all of the restaurants on board, but our favorite was the World Cafe! Our accommodations were perfect! We chose a deluxe verandah stateroom. We enjoyed opening our siding glass doors every day to see the sites and enjoy the fresh ocean air. We also took great pleasure in the variety of late afternoon and evening programs. On this cruise we loved the Edward Munch art displayed in the atrium each evening during our cocktail hour. These painting were enhanced by wonderful musical selections of piano or sting musicians as well as the guide booklet. It was just a delightful way for us to transition between our daily touring off the ship and enjoying the pleasures of the the ship in the evening. We also totally enjoyed Mr. Lee and his delightful, comically interesting stories of The Viking's history. He was truly a special and gifted entertainer! We would be remiss if we neglected to mention the competent crew on board. From the captain and his assistants to the wonderful hard working housekeepers / deck cleaners, everyone worked diligently day and night seeing to our every need, answering questions, keeping our room and the ship spotless, serving us meals, early morning coffees and sweet delights, as well as evening drinks accompanied by wonder guitar music at the varied bar areas, guiding us on and off the ship as well as directing us to our daily guides. We were amazed each day as everything just flowed and we had no worries.
