Nightmare started upon arriving at port at our updated time to check in due to Coast Guard inspection. The line was unbelievable. We were lucky, if you can call it that, water was supplied to the people in line where the water was set up. More water stations should have been set up as the lines were so long. Then some representative of MSC came out to inform us that the delay was caused by us for not showing up at the appropriate time! It took us four and a half hours to get through the lines and on the ship. After complaining about the delay and asking for a credit, we were informed that no credit would be issued to anyone. A few days later a letter was sent apologizing for the delay when we boarded and a $50 credit was issued for each stateroom. Each stateroom? Really? That was like adding insult to injury.
The ship had 4,500 people on board. Bars were packed, dining rooms were packed with tables so close together it felt as if we were all dining together. Shows were packed. The buffet lines were unbelievably long, like we have never experienced before. The bars were not fully stocked and after waiting a long time for a drink the liquor you wanted wasn't available. Then to add insult to injury again, overcharges on account and to straighten it out, the lines in guest services never let up.
Food was mediocre, which was disappointing. MSC needs to work on that.
