Because our two scheduled cruises in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled, we had to use the credit this year. We were not ready to be around a lot of people on an ocean cruise because of Covid so chose another river cruise. (We did end up getting Covid at the end of the trip anyway). In fact, we have done this same cruise 4 years ago and were on the same ship and in the same stateroom. That alone will tell you how much we liked it. The viking staff were fabulous. Our room attendant even left my husband a bookmark when she noticed on here own that he did not have one! The food was terrific, the tour director was the best, making sure that the tours went well and kept us informed about repercussions of a broken river lock. She was very knowledgeable of the history of the area. The local guides were superb. We learned a lot more than if we had tried to tour on our own. The hotels in Paris and Zurich were only average but I understand that they needed hotels that could handle multiple buses. Now we need to decide what Viking cruise to do next year.
