We were unhappy with our last Viking cruise right before Covid to Australia/NZ. Poor food quality, lacking in evening entertainment, difficulty getting on the ship when our plane arrived late (which Viking Air booked) so were cautious this time around. It could not have been better. Everything was great. Beautiful new ship, excellent dining, good excursions. I still think evenings are a bit of a bust on Viking. Their troupe of dancers are good but obviously can’t perform nightly. Bringing on a flutist in between times doesn’t do much for any of us. Please step up the entertainment. The historian talks are fabulous though. They were the highlight for us.I’m glad we gave Viking another chance on ocean. We’ve always enjoyed their river cruises immensely, The staff is so excellent. They are wonderful. We did not have any issues dining in the specialty restaurants but were unable to book anything ahead of time. Frustrating but once on board it worked itself out.
