We chose this cruise because we had always wanted to go to the British Isles, especially London and because once we sailed on Viking, we aren't interested in sailing other lines. The Venus was beautiful, elegant but not gaudy and the food and on-board services were excellent, as we have always experienced. We did miss one port, in Scotland, due to weather but since we had numerous Scottish ports, we were not terribly disappointed. We did have some delay in boarding which required a lengthy (1 hour+) wait which could have been handled better, but the ship was completely booked and it seemed they were still dealing with post covid restart issues. Having the WiFi at no charge was a huge convenience. We did the pre- and post-cruise extensions (in London, and Bergen/Oslo) and the Viking Representatives at the Hotels were helpful in planning our stays; kudos especially to one of the Reps in Bergen who retrieved my items left in the room safe and breathlessly got them to me just prior to boarding the train to Oslo!
Beautifully furnished with fantastic views from the Veranda. Excellent service by the Room Attendant, twice a day! Love the "Freyja" toiletries (I always bring some home and using them "takes me back" every time).
This was on the itinerary and we weren't really excited about Liverpool but it turned out to be one of the trip's highlights mostly due to our wonderful guide, Gary Friday, who took us on a walking tour of the city. We didn't select the "Beatles Tour" but he provided a mini-Beatles tour among a lot more information about the city. The city itself was very welcoming and looked great.
