Sail Date: Aug 2022

We like France and this was a part of France we hadn't seen before. The overall trip was excellent, as were the side excursions (weather and forest fires are completely outside of Viking's control, of course). The only downsides were the sailing dates ensured that we arrived in Lyon on Sunday and couldn't see the interior of the cathedral (many stores were closed, too). Similarly, we toured Vienne at night, so the church there was closed. The schedule leaves little time to explore on your own. On the positive side, the service was outstanding, the food excellent, and the excursions good (do see the olive farm and presses--great tour). The Chateauneuf-du-Pape winetasting was very worthwhile (and tasty). We certainly enjoyed our tour and our companion shipmates. We have no hesitation recommending this tour to folks who wish to see the Rhone region of France. Also, when we had a medical issue onboard the ship, the Viking staff and crew on board were extremely helpful; we cannot say enough good things about them.

Cabin Review

Cabin was clean, but a bit smaller than we anticipated.
