The ship is very nice. Viking does a good job with the entertainment and education opportunities. Rooms are very nice. Common gathering areas are excellent. The food is good ... and sometimes great. All Viking staff are friendly and professional.

Most of the excursions are excellent. Alaska is amazing. Would highly recommend kayaking around a glacier, see the Iditarod dogs, fishing for either halibut or salmon. Most of all ... try to see the bears.

There were slight negatives at the beginning and end of the trip. The group running our pre-cruise in Vancouver were not very friendly and the Covid testing was very disorganized. That has to change. The last day of the trip involved a bus from Seward to Anchorage. Had we not rented a car to explore Anchorage, we would have sat in a convention center all day waiting to transfer to the airport. And speaking of the airport, for some reason American Airlines did not open their counters or baggage check until two hours before the flights. All the flights were late at night, so by then people were frustrated just standing in the ticket gate area with no food, etc.

Cabin Review

Very nice. Comfortable. Functional. Similar to a nice hotel.
