Chose this cruise based on a desire to explore Alaska, the itinerary, the pre and post trips available and reputation of Viking and experience on a previous Viking cruise.

Ship was very comfortable and the service was excellent. Shore excursions were very interesting. However, when excursions had to be cancelled (through no fault of Viking), we let we were slow to be notified of an alternative. By the time we found out, most alternatives were booked.

All the restaurants were excellent. Especially enjoyed the variety of fresh fruits (perfectly ripened). Wines and beers included in the fare were all very good. Wait staff was excellent. Variety of foods and dining experiences was terrific. Especially enjoyed high tea. Read more
