The only way to conveniently see the coastal parts of Alaska is by sea and we knew Viking would choose the best places to visit. The ports of call were well chosen. Viking provided at each port a plethora of opportunities for tours to fit everyones requirements from walking tours to helicopter rides. On two occasions they even deviated from the planned route to show us something of special interest. The staff is well trained, helpful, and invariably friendly. The cabin attendants work on our schedule not theirs and are very attentive to special needs. The waiters take time to explain what they are serving and make sure each item is prepared to our liking. The "no kids" policy makes for a much more relaxing experience. We have been on other cruise lines but they can't hold a candle to Viking. The ships are beautiful, modern, and with the comfortable decor typical of Scandinavian design. We will sail with Viking again.
