We chose this trip because of the wonderful itinerary. We did extensions in both Venice and Barcelona, where we stayed in really lovely hotels. These hotels were also located close to many dining choices in walking distance, which was quite convenient and allowed us to get the feel of the area. In Venice, the transportation into the city itself was convenient and frequent. The cruise itself was exactly what we have come to expect on Viking cruises. The staff was attentive, the entertainment was very interesting, the ship historian was not to be missed! And then, I must mention the delicious food and wine...always with a local emphasis. It was extremely HOT on the tours, but Viking always sent us off the ship with frozen water bottles, and greeted us on our return with cold water and chilled facecloths. I suspect that if they could have, the Viking people would have moderated the temperatures! Viking really does seem to anticipate your wishes. The staterooms are very pretty with Scandinavian design, and ours was kept in perfect order by our steward. Thank you Viking for another wonderful trip!
