Decided to take this cruise out of Boston to Maine/Canada. Have taken this cruise on other ships with Royal in the past. Picked this cruise as when we booked, you still had to take Covid test before going on. Lucky me, they stopped the requirement on October 1, so no tests before cruise. So I got Covid even though I tried to be careful. Very few people wore masks, by end of cruise, several people were hacking. Yes, I understand Royal needs/wants the business so happy to create the illusion that things are back to normal but Covid is still out there. They need to encourage mask wearing. Royal needs to change the menu in dining room, pretty sad when I can predict what’s on the menu. Food in MDR was hit or miss. The service was exceptional, Roni and Gede made the dining experience very enjoyable. They really work hard for you to enjoy your meal. Only ate in Windjammer once, please go back to having staff serve the food. People make such a mess at the buffet. Can’t really do trivia as they seem to always do it at the schooner bar, not enough seats for people. I’m not going to get there two hours before so I can sit down. We have cruised over 8 times with Royal but I think we have outgrown them, sadly disappointed in this cruise.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

We had cabin 8348. Denmark was great as cabin steward. He couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Never can say enough about the cabin stewards. The balcony was all steel so basically couldn’t see ocean, probably should put this info in description of balconies.

Port Reviews

Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is beautiful, unfortunately it was packed as there was more than one cruise ship in port
