A third cruise with Marella, but probably our last. We enjoyed all of the ports of call, Split, Trieste, Ancona, San Marino and Zadar. Usual procedure to board the ship, probably slightly longer due to covid and brexit but once on board were greeted by friendly ,helpful crew. Cabin, outside on deck 9 was beautifully clean and the crew who serviced it twice a day were friendly, cheerful and a credit to the company. The whole ship was kept spotlessly clean with plenty of hand sanitizers dotted around with staff reminding guests to use them at each entrance to the restaurants. The entertainment is of course a personal choice and we found some performances and shows better than others.
Our biggest disappointment centred around eating. Both my partner and I are unable to to eat Gluten and I am also vegetarian. We did of course check by phone with Tui to make sure that they could accommodate our dietary needs and were assured that they could. On board unfortunately we were surprised to find that there was no actual gluten free menu and very few options available to choose from in the dining rooms. We spoke to both the head chef and restaurant manager who did try to help but explained that menus are sent down from head office and leave little room to deviate for dietary needs, unlike some other cruise lines.
Outside deck 9. Perfectly adequate ,beautifully clean, plenty of storage and cheerful friendly service staff
