We chose this cruise for the itinerary. We have sailed on Holland America several times before, although in recent years we have chosen Celebrity. This cruise sailed eout of Vancouver, CA which is a wonderful, beautiful city. Now I will get to the problems we have encountered. First, the boarding procedures were horrific. We were given a 10:100 AM Priority boarding time. We were guided to seats to await the opening of the baggage handling area, which took quite awhile. Then we were all herded in mass to a long line inside to have our boarding passes checked. Then another long line to await security check. All machines were offline, so the wait was incredibly long and uncomfortable. I have asthma, just went through Hurricane Ian in Florida and became overheated, which brought on a severe asthma attack. Finally, we got through security and were ushered on the ship. Suite guests were not treated to any special treatment at all. We have never seen this before on any ship we have been on.
Onboard the ship, we were faced with an even worse situation. All but one passenger elevators were used for bringing up luggage. The one elevator in use was overwhelmed with wheelchair passengers. The only option was to climb stairs to our room. We were not happy.
The Neptune Suite (#7115) is very nice. A comfy sofa, spacious coffee table and two chairs make up the sitting area. There is a bar with ice, water, wine and other glasses and a mini fridge with other drinks. We were told that as Neptune Suite passengers, we would have a premium beverage package which would include water. The stateroom attendant said no. There is a long desk/dressing table by the bed with a window in front. Underneath a lift-up panel is a hair-dryer and make-up mirror. There is a USB Ort and 3 regular plugs. Also included is a Keurig style coffee maker with a supply of cups and coffees. We had no creamer, just sugar and cinnamon. The king-size bed is extremely comfortable. On each side is a bedside table with two drawers and a space underneath. USB and regular plugs are also next to each side of the bed with reading lights.
