We chose Azzurra as it is a small new ship, with 100 passengers. The ship was stunning, with plenty of space so it never felt crowded. Our balcony suite was lovely, with plenty of storage, good design and very comfortable. The staff onboard were absolutely fantastic - always with a big smile and happy to help with everything.
We loved the choice of food and wine - many reflecting the local area and cuisine. We accompanied Chef Li to the market one day and saw all the ingredients being chosen for the meals for a couple of days. The octopus was our favourite meal. The aqua pool bar served amazing flat breads at lunch time. Breakfast and lunch were decent buffets and dinner was always waiter service with good choices. Certain staples were always available if you didn’t fancy the menu of the day. The restaurant staff were the best, trained to an extremely high standard and always stopped to chat with you. There were plenty of tables inside and out with free seating, which we loved.
We didn’t attend the entertainment provided, but we really enjoyed Mark the guitarist, who had a beautiful soft voice.
Comfortable cabin with everything we needed. Capsule coffee maker was a huge bonus.
Included walking tour of Taormina was lovely
Always love Sorrento. So many beautiful shops with exquisite marquetry, gorgeous leather goods and designer clothing. It was heaving with people though.
