I hardly know where to start with the issues we had on this cruise. The crew was extremely short staffed everywhere. This resulted in long, long line ups & waits for everything. Not enough people in the dining rooms; coffee bar; front desk; bars, etc. The crew worked hard but just couldn't keep up. At least an hour wait for breakfast & lunch in the dining rooms. That was on top of long line ups to get in. Having only one dining room open for a short window of time didn't help the situation. I understand why people went to the dining rooms. The food was pretty good. However, not good in other places such as the buffet, burgers, pizza, etc. Buffet food had a poor selection, was often cool if not cold & looked unappetizing. Finding a table was a challenge in the buffet too.

We were fortunate to have a good table with the same waiters every night for dinner- but only after requesting it. Princess has done away with traditional dining & you sit at different tables with different waiters every night. We had excellent service in the dining room for dinner. The waiters worked very hard- too hard. The app dining reservation worked for us but for many it didn't. Guests arrived having thought they had a reservation & did not. This resulted in people being turned away or having to dine much later than they expected. It was complete chaos for several days. Much of the menu has changed for dinner. No themed nights any longer. There is no distancing in the dining room & you virtually sat on top of each other. This created some discomfort & certainly no privacy. On top of that the noise in the dining room was unbelievable. Some very inconsiderate large tables yelling at each other made the noise so bad you couldn't even talk to the person beside you. There is no longer a dress code for evening dining-even though it's advertised. It was the norm to see shorts, flip flops, tank tops, baseball caps, etc- even on formal night!

The cabin. C752 was an upgrade (more money) to our usual balcony cabin as it faced the wake. First time for this type of cabin & we were excited to be tucked away at the back for the quiet & the view. There was unfortunately a lot of traffic by our door to the fire door next to it. Crew used it for the stairway & because it was a fire door it slammed loudly each time they passed through-which was frequently. Some one at Princess had the bright idea to block off the entire aft area on deck 7 (passengers could not walk around it any longer) to make it crew smoking. There must be a lot of smokers because we had experienced a strong smell of cigarette smoke & at time marijuana smoke constantly from this area. Even in the middle of the night there was a strong smell of smoke. It completely ruined our ability to sit out & enjoy the view. The mattress in the cabin must be as old as the ship. Soft, uncomfortable & had a permanent hole in it which you fell into when you got into bed. We asked for the mattress to be turned which our wonderful cabin steward did. No difference. He said he'd put a board underneath. The board was food serving trays!! It helped a bit but not much. Really- serving trays. The lighting in the bathroom was dim & yellow. We were told the lighting couldn't be changed. If you have any vision issues be aware of this. Water in the shower ran hot & cold- really hot & cold so be careful.

Cabin Review

Balcony

C752. On this ship the cabin is terrible. Mattress & pillows terrible. Heavy cigarette smoke from deck 7. Lights yellowed & dull in the bathroom. Very hot & very cold running water in the shower. Loud, slamming fire door next to the cabin.
