We actually did a 14 night cruise from Rome to Barcelona and it was to celebrate 40 years of marriage. We booked a club class mini suite since it was a special occasion. All went well until Day 6 when my wife woke up with a sore throat and no voice. She went to the medical centre and was locked in a side room with no buzzer, which we thought was atrocious medical practice, anything could have happened. She tested positive for covid and was immediately moved to a smaller balcony cabin on Deck 9 for isolation. She remained there until the end of the cruise since she was still testing positive. I was tested as a close contact but was negative, but they retested me on Day 9 and I had become positive so I too had to go into isolation. Isolation was pretty boring, though I would say that you can still order the same food as you would have had upstairs (they put the menu under your door every morning) and also drinks on the app. But it wasn't really the experience we had hoped for. The worst thing was that we were sure there were people walking around spreading covid who hadn't owned up by going to the medical centre.

The only positive was that we were given future cruise credits as compensation and they have covered about 80% of the cost of our next cruise. However it took nearly 3 months and several e mails and phone calls for them to come through. I was not impressed by the delays.

Ports (before isolation!):

Cabin Review

Mini suite was lovely, very comfy bed. Isolation cabin was basic and smaller.
