We have cruised with Princess more than 40 times. We chose this particular cruise to get back into sailing after the pandemic b/c it was out of Vancouver, which is relatively close to home, and also b/c it was longer than 7 days. It did not particularly leave me looking forward to my next cruise, although some of it was beyond Princess' control...like getting back to Vancouver 4 hours late and having to change our flight home. (It would have helped a huge amount though if they had asked the pianist to not play in the atrium while we were trying to get through to the airline on the public phone by the passenger services desk....it was absolute bedlam there with so many people milling around the desk and the piano banging away in the background.)
Our room was an oceanview in a location we like. There were some obvious things that needed repairing, but it was clean and comfortable, and the room steward was wonderful. We loved her. The internet speed and service were better than we have experienced in the past, and the really good part was that it was for unlimited minutes, even though we now have to pay for it at 50% of the regular cost instead of getting it for free as Elite cruisers. Some of the entertainment was very good...the pianist in the atrium was fabulous. Neither of us liked the Blame it on the Boogie show...not our genre of music and it was so loud...but my husband enjoyed the violinist in the Princess Theatre and also the comedian. We had 2 terrific meals in one of the dining-rooms...excellent food preparation and service both times. For the most part, the workers we had contact anywhere on the ship with were great...friendly and very attentive. The medallion worked fine.
We get the Elite bar set up, but don't drink, so exchanged what was in the fridge for coffee cards, as usual. This time we were each charged $3.54 to have the liquor removed from the room and the coffee cards added to our medallions. Not going to break us, but a bit chintzy.
