I selected this Cruise company because it fit our plan to see the Oberammergua Passion Play with a Danube River Cruise. This was our 3rd river cruise. The pre-trip was TERRIBLE. The cruise was DELIGHTFUL.

One of the Reservation clerks was extremely rude to me. Our travel agent called the office and was put on HOLD every time for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours before getting to talk to the Reservation clerk. Our travel agents called 3 weeks before the trip and asked for a hotel room for the night before the trip. They refused with no reason. Our agent asked for shuttle from airport to hotel,,, they refused with no reason. So our agent booked a room in the hotel where our cruise guests were staying.

Avalon has excessive number of excursions for money with low quality guides. Other cruise companies have 2 free excursions for each am and pm with 1 or 2 extra excursions for money with TOP QUALITY guides. Read more
