This was our first cruise and from the initial line to get onboard which took 4 hours to clear and delayed departure by 3 hours, long lines were a common occurrence on the ship. Coupled with a number of different communications from staff members on the guest services desk compared to what was being said by our cruise director made for some confusing and unpleasant situations. As this was our first cruise, we chatted to many other guests who had been on many cruises and along with us they were disappointed in the sub-par standard of the cruise.
Overall, the staff at bars, food servers and entertainment made up for some of the unpleasant moments. This unpleasant moment could be simply fixed by sending guests text messages on embarking day letting them know there would be delays. Management obviously knew how many people had booked to come at those embarking times so would be an easy fix along with giving all staff a briefing each day to ensure there is no mixed messages
