I want to thank Princess Cruises for removing any desire I might have to go on future cruises after my experience on Emerald Princess. I was shocked at how bad the overall service was compared to the other dozen cruises we have been on.

One example of poor service was the dining and beverage service. My wife and I ordered the Soda Package and to get a soda while you dined you had to tell a drink waiter what you wanted. Usually, the drink waiters would appear within a reasonable amount of time, but when eating in the buffet, my wife and I did not receive our drinks until we were at the very end of eating our meal or sometimes, the drinks did not arrive until after we were done eating. Evidently, the waiters had to go to one of the bars and wait to be served. The closest bar to the buffet was outside the restaurant. I usually had to grab another drink waiter and ask for them to bring me some ice water. I tried to get my own ice water, but was forbidden to do so.

Speaking of the Soda Package, we were shocked at the number of times we were billed for our drinks even though our waiters had our Soda Package information via their online Medallion system. To get the charges removed, my wife and I had to go to the Customer Service desk on four occasions as the charges kept happening over and over, regardless of whom we reported the problem to.

Cabin Review

Cabin was adequate with large balcony. Very quiet, comfortable bed. Tiny shower and bathroom, although adequate. Good closet space with lots of hangars, lots of drawers and shelves for clothing.
