We booked this cruise as it had been several years since we last visited Europe and we liked this itinerary. This portion of the trip embarked in Rome, we stayed at the W Hotel, a brand new property with excellent and clean accommodations and outstanding service. Would not hesitate to rebook there. We contracted with Rome cabs to transfer us- the dad dropped us off right in front of the ship.

We had requested a 1pm boarding time, arrived at 12:45pm, breezed through check-in and we're on the ship by 1:30pm. We checked in at our assigned muster station and went for lunch in The Terrace Cafe. While we were eating they announced that our cabin category was ready, our luggage was delivered soon after. I am both lactose and gluten intolerant and the cruise staff could not have been accommodating. I received a special menu each day, requesting I make my selections so the chefs could prepare for my dietary needs. The food was very good, as I expected; we ate from The Main dining Room, the terrace cafe, Toscana, polo grill and Jacques.
