This was our first & last cruise with Celebrity. We chose Celebrity due to cruise credits about to expire from a previous cancellation. We have previously cruised with Princess, Disney and Viking and would book with them again . Unfortunately our itinerary changed greatly due to Hurricane Fiona which we understood and has little bearing on this review. We also contracted covid halfway through cruise (mild symptoms, fully vaccinated, boosted). We had to quarantine in our room remainder of trip (5 days). The Captain announced the number of covid cases were trending up and made masking mandatory. I honestly feel neither the itinerary change nor covid impacted my review. THE BEST thing about the cruise were the employees, especially our stateroom attendant Nelson from Jamaica. THE DOWNSIDE included: STAFFING: We took the ship tour (interesting and well run). We learned they are at least 20% understaffed which is probably the main cause of most of the negatives. So... how can one be confident in the true CLEANLINESS and DISINFECTING of the ship? FOOD: BUFFET (lukewarm at best, always); MDR (mostly average); Room service due to quarantine (orders often incorrect, slow service often taking 60 -90 minutes, food subpar) SHIP: VERANDAS were dirty, rusty, etc.; OUTDOOR EATING AREAS minimal; DINING ROOM tables for two were a joke but we met some very nice people; SERVICE was slow taking 2 or more hours overall. OUTDOOR MOVIE area poorly designed & very small. NO ISSUES WITH: Theatre or shows, Guest Services, Medical Staff & follow-up (covid)
The interior of our stateroom looked to be recently updated with no issues. Veranda was dirty, rusty and fault of stateroom attendant. Our attendant Nelson from Jamaica) was EXCELLENT. We wish him well...
