Just want to start off saying that the ship and crew are fabulous. We’ve been on more than 10 Celebrity Cruises over the years, back after Covid, and things have changed. Firstly I must say the entertainment was excellent and so were the itinerary and shore excursions. The breakfast and lunch buffets were also excellent. The problems begin with dinner. The first night we were given a card in our stateroom telling us to go to one of the four dining rooms at 8:45pm for dinner (we had requested an 8:45 seating when we booked which never happened). We decided to go 15 minutes early and the line to get in was 20 deep. After waiting 10 minutes, a staff member from the dining room told us to go to another dining room downstairs because they were not able to seat us for a while. So we went and the line there was not much better. After another 10 or so minutes we were given a pager (Imagine after spending more than $10K for this cruise!). 35 minutes later we were seated. That night dinner finished at 11:15pm (crazy). After that night we were stressed, rushing to dinner not wanting to wait that long again, but on one or two nights we were given a pager again! Service in the restaurants is hit or miss due to understaffing (one night after waiting 25 minutes to give our dessert order, we gave up and left). Secondly we had taken the premium drink package which was great for the first 8 nights of the 12 night cruise. But after night 8 they started to run out of the premium wines on the list and were replacing them with twist-off wine bottles (not corked) or classic-package wines. Also on this Edge class ship the amount of bars has dwindled and there is no longer bar service in the theater, casino or dining room. We are currently booked on four Celebrity future cruises and think we may need to look at other options instead of Celebrity. They need to fix the issues around dinner and drink package.
