This was our 6th cruise with Princess after a 7-year hiatus due to issues we had with the last Princess cruise we took. But this itinerary was appealing so we decided to give Princess another chance.
The ship was in fine shape for its age, having been refurbished in 2019. We always get a mini-suite, and it was also in good shape. The bed was very comfortable. The bathtub was a little dated since the newer ships have the walk-in showers, but it was not an issue. We had some slow drainage in the tub, but our excellent cabin steward Naik got it addressed promptly.
The entertainment on the ship was better than we expected. The onboard production company put on several different shows featuring very good dancing, but less than stellar singing. All in all, we never felt compelled to walk out on any of their shows. Our only beef, which we have with every cruise line is that the volume of everything is TOO LOUD. Why they equate loud with good and exciting we cannot fathom. I put in earplugs as soon as the shows start. That is ridiculous. I am sure it will never change. There were also two excellent comedians in the Fusion lounge and an Elton John tribute artist who put on two excellent shows. A guest violinist put on a good show as well. The only stinker was a four-man singing group called Unity which we referred to as the Pompous Four. A bit too enamored with themselves for our taste, we walked out of that one after a few minutes.
