We took this cruise to travel with Canadian friends to Alaska, we’re from the UK. Sadly the main problem is the fact we’re from different countries, we were not able to book dining to eat together. There seemed to be no solution to not being allocated a dining table together other than queueing for up to 40 mins, despite having our bookings linked. August was not a good time to escape noise, celebrating groups and children. The included drinks package had a bizarre charging regimen. An Aperol spritz with Prosecco was charged at $1 extra, an Aperol With just soda was charged at $1 extra, initially there was no extra charge then suddenly there was. Service at the few bars we visited onboard was generally poor, insufficient staff. Allowing seats at a bar makes it difficult to place an order, there was no real evidence of waiters walking around to take orders. The food in the restaurant was generally good. Waiting staff were under pressure. Filtered water should be available free of charge in every cabin. Our cabin was always kept clean and tidy we didn’t need to ask for anything extra.
