As a last minute treat we got an ad and got a good rate. We have been on 8 cruises. Royal C once and Celebrity all others. We wanted to see the differences and MSC was recommended by family.
First we arrived around noon and the outside line was across the front of the terminal and starting down the road. Within an hour line was down the road, in the street, leading up to the terminal. Mostly sunny and hot - its Miami. No shade. Water was available in water bins but most were dry. No one paying attention and refilling. People getting dropped off and just standing there with no idea of what to do or where to go. No one from MSC stepped ip to guide. Someone in line pointed out porters and then toward the back of the almost quarter mile long line. Arrival times were a joke no one looked at them no paid any attention to them. Got thru the outside line in about 1 1/2 hrs. Line inside moved faster and we finally had ac. Then up the stairs to another line for check in. You have to go to a window and check in. We were accustomed to doing all that before arriving - hadnt seen a check in window for about 3 yrs. Celebrity does all that online b4 you arrive. Then on to ship.
Ship was amazing. The latest in modern. Beautiful. Super clean & shiny. Got to our room. It was great. Clean and nice. A bit larger than Celebritys balcony cabin. We really liked that. Bathroom tiny. But functional. Later found out shower so small I bumped arm every shower trying to turn around. I take blood thinners and bruise easily and had 6 bruises for the 6 showers I took!
Very nice cabin. Slightly larger than what we were used to. Lots of storage. Clean.
6 ships in that day. Beach was packed.
