I don't normally write reviews however, with now 20+ cruises under our belt and our second trip across the pond, I thought that I would put 'pen to paper' to hopefully assist any new UK cruisers looking to travel either with Celebrity (this was our first time with Celebrity) or visiting New England & Canada.
In regards to the ship, our last 5 cruises have been on much bigger (150,000 tonnes +) and much newer than the Summit which entered service in 2001. Overall, the ship was in good condition but was showing its age in some places with rust patches to be found in most areas. The crew did effect minor repairs during the cruise and this was done whilst in port and did not detract from the cruise with areas well marked to avoid. Internal decoration was not to my taste (the busts in the stairwells freaked me out a bit) but art is for the eye of the beholder. The ship has plenty of shopping for a ship of this size and the public areas were kept clean and tidy. The atrium was not what we expected (as was some of the other feedback that we had from other passengers) but again, its not a new ship.
Celebrity app on the phone was easy to use (even for a techophobe like myself).
Very well appointed and exceptional cabin steward. Balcony view is obstructed by pillars (listed as 20% obstruction on the booking)
