QM 2 is a wonderful ship. It is very nautical and has a large number of venues in which to eat, dance, drink or listen to music. The activities on this crossing which focused on art and design were very good. The entertainment in the main showroom was fair. The food is commparable to most mid to upper tier ships which is good but not great. The pub had good food and an excellent irish duo playing at night. Thought the crew did an excellent job dealing with covid. All crew members were masked at all times and never heard about anyone getting covid on the ship. There was one huge negative to an otherwise outstanding crossing. The check in appeared to be very understaffed and took over 2 hours waiting in a cruise terminal in Brooklyn that was not air conditioned. This was the worst check in we have experienced in over 20 cruises. There was an older woman standing in front of us that I thought was going to collapse. There were no apologies or explanations for this horrible experience. Not a good or even acceptable beginning to what turned out to be a very nice cruise. Talked to several people who were doing roundtrips from Southampton and they told us getting back on the ship after a day in NYC for them was a 2 hour experience and they had obviously checked in at Southampton and had their cruise cards. They were asked for their vacination info and they told the staff it was in their safe on the ship.
