This was my 3rd cruise with carnival, it was a matter of timing, budget and location. The staff was great especially erin. the only complaint for staff would be one cook at blue iguana...more to come on that. highlights would simply be alaska itself. this was my first ever visit there.....awe inspiring. especially the glacier tour at tracy fjord. and the fact that the area had rain for weeks before our trip, we enjoyed clear skies at every stop. it was great that my two grown daughters were offered, and accepted a starboard balcony as an upgrade. My wife and i did enjoy an aft balcony witch was a bit less private(notes taken). aside from erin the cruise director, entertainment was far less than shows on my previous cruises. the comedian, the singers just didnt do it for me. the staff at the customer service desk need to speak a bit louder and pay a bit more attention. The food, at guys burgers, wad the culinary highlight. the main restaurant was fair with smaller portions. the buffets were just there. the pizza was not as good as previous cruises but a saving grace. and i cant forget the huevos rancheros at blue iguana........i felt like gordan ramsey, spitting out what brought to mind a can of alpo dog food. taste, then smell and appearance. rust spots all over the ship and level nine's dirty windows for the duratin of the the cruise from start to finish, great way to enjoy a meal at any location....what came to mind was"youget what you pay for." and i still feel that was not the case. carnival, i am sad to say that i could never suggest you, especially the spirit to anyone, even and especially a first time traveler.
