Just got off 5 days on the NCL Getaway to Bermuda from 8.29 - 9.3. While the weather didn't cooperate while we were in port that much, we had a fantastic time. We stayed in The Haven, Aft penthouse suite 13302 and I would absolutely book this cabin again. While far from everything on the back of the ship, the views and the massive balcony with 2 loungers and a table for 4 were worth the extra steps to get to The Haven Courtyard in front of the ship as well as other top locations like the pool, entertainment and kids club. Here are a few highlights with an equivalent grading:
The Haven - A - worth every penny IMO for what I needed with 2 small kids (5 an 7) and traveling with my au pair. Embarkation was easy and fast and that was with a major screw up with our key cards which got sorted out immediately. We were on the ship and in our room by 11:15am. Our luggage arrived before we could even have lunch which was great. Disembarkation was a breeze too. Went to The Haven for breakfast at 7:45am, was in the NYC terminal getting an Uber by 9am, home in NJ by 9:35am. No wait time at all at immigration and getting bags. Huge props to our butler Yogie and our room steward Macha who took care of all of us and made the entire experience wonderful.
Premium Plus beverage package -- B+ -- for me it was pretty worth it but there were wines not available that we were expecting (not a real biggie) in the restaurants. I specifically wanted it for the Veuve Clicquot and wines and boy did we drink our weight in Veuve in The Haven Courtyard by the pool and at the bar. I might not upgrade again but it was really nice to have it. FYI -- PPBev is the only plan you can use in Starbucks -- BUT -- it doesn't cover any food you order there (which I learned the hard way).
the weather wasn't great and I always prefer to be in hamilton or st george so the distance to getting places can be an issue.
