We picked this cruise due to the itinerary. We had travelled once before on HAL in 2010 so decided to give them another try.
Embarkation in Trieste was quick when we got to the embarkation dock. It was a bit confusing as we had arrived in Trieste on the night before the cruise and the ship was docked in the city, however when we woke up the next morning the ship was gone. It had moved to a dock outside the city centre overnight. They had a HAL sign at the dock area but no one with a HAL badge to advise. Asked a person near the sign who showed us to the buses which transported us and our luggage to the dock.
Trieste is a lovely vibrant city that came as a total surprise, beautiful public buildings and squares and a great buzz.

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom
Cabin on deck 7 over looking the wake was comfortable, deep balcony. Only issue was soot on the balcony on one day.

Beautiful old town to wander around. Scenery was lovely. Need taxi or bus to get to a beach.
Trieste
We embarked here and spent on night here, beautiful vibrant city. Recommended. Probably the most surprising place as we didn't expect it to be so lovely. Great atmosphere on a Saturday night with music in the streets and everyone out and about.
