We chose this cruise because it explored the fjords all the way up to the northern most points of Norway. It is not a cruise ship in the conventional sense but instead combines being a working boat and a cruise ship. Our cabin was fine with a good view on deck 6. The food was good quality and the restaurant staff were excellent. The excursion staff combined selling excursions with being informative about the trip, the towns we were about to visit and providing a sense of Norwegian culture. It is important to recognise if you want a traditional cruise do not blindly go for this trip but if you really want to find out about Norway and the fjords then this needs serious consideration. Certain things are very expensive but that reflects the costs in Norway and salaries paid in Norway. All the staff were knowledgeable and dealt with you in a very professional way. They also had a good sense of humour and seem proud to talk about aspects of the trip, Scandinavian culture and everyday life in Norway, Unusually the weather was also fantastic, Choose excursions carefully as some are probably not worth the money, We did a full 11 days from Bergen all the way north and then returned to Bergen. You can also travel part of the journey but if you go straight to the normal Hurtigruten site for cruises, you will not see this as an option, but you can search google for other options.

Cabin Review

More than adequate for our needs. Outside with a good view from deck 6. Some people might say it was small but suited our needs.
