This was our first cruise with Silversea but eleventh cruise on our 7th different cruise line. Silversea is marketed as luxury 6 Star cruising and this was our first "luxury Cruse." First impressions excellent we did door to door was collected from home, transfer to airport, transfer from airport to hotel and transfer from hotel to cruise port and check in all went seamlessly. The Silver Sprit is a lovely ship with plenty of space and did not appear crowded at all, you could always find a nice place to sit and no queues for buffet, restaurants, bars or show lounge. Food in Atlantide and The Grill/Hot Rocks very good. Included excursions enjoyable and we were impressed that there appeared to be a maximum of 25 on the excursions and extra coaches were put on if the demand for the excursion was high.

Silversea make a big deal about every stateroom having a butler, we saw ours the day we embarked and saw him fleetingly once more during our 9 night cruise, we did call him once and he never replied. We therefore did not see the added value of the butler. We were in a Vista Suite and wondered if our lack of attentiveness from the butler was due to being in the lowest suite category.

We has a few issues with replenishing towels and toiletries in our cabin which we didn't expect on a 6 star luxury cruise. Staff were obviously new and learning the ropes. Read more
