Friends and I cruised with Royal Caribbean on 8/22/2022 for what was booked as "7 Night Alaska Glacier Cruise". RC changed the itinerary of this cruise on August 3 for our August 22, 2022 departure, well into the time period for cancellation without losing all our money. The excuse was trouble with one of the four engines that they couldn't obtain parts to repair, so they had to cruise at slower speed, necessitating changes in itinerary, We were very upset with the elimination of cruising to see the glaciers. Four friends and myself in 2 staterooms were looking forward to the day cruising Endicott Arms and the Dawes Glacier. Skipping that was extremely detrimental to our cruise experience and the meager credit of $100 per stateroom was woefully insufficient. For my stateroom, that equated to $50 per person, and for the other, $33 and change each. In addition, communication during the cruise was conflicting and confusing. For example, at Skagway, the published "Revised Itinerary" time in port was 11 am to 7 pm. The "Cruise Compass" - received each evening prior to port - showed 11 am to 8:30 pm. And "The Key" document left in our stateroom told us to meet at 8:30 am "half an hour after arrival due to Tender Operations". Why would we meet for Key departure at 8:30 am for 11 am arrival??? Another Key document advised to meet at 10:30 am for departure. Documents are not time stamped, so once they are all accumulated in the stateroom it's impossible to tell which is the most recent advice, It appears that the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Food was good, although we always had trouble finding a table in the Windjammer. Almost impossible to get a lounge at the pool or hot tubs, I will say that everyone on the staff with whom we interacted was stellar and overall could not have served better. We applaud all the staff for their courtesy, prompt service and friendly attitude. In spite of the wonderful staff, it will be unlikely that I'll cruise RC again due to the short port visits, missing the glacier, and confusion on times.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

Cabin was great, except for someone on a nearby balcony who smoked cigars. Not RC's fault, but annoying, as the smoke filtered into our stateroom. Pillows seemed fairly hard; I was glad I brought my own soft, mashable pillow :)
