This may have been the first near-capacity cruise that Celebrity Apex has had since its introduction and unfortunately it showed. The crew, though friendly and professional, appeared to be stretched thin. Service was slow in the MDRs and the food in the main buffet was below par. The biggest issue was the fact that Celebrity did not enforce the Covid rules they said they were going to enforce......at least not until we started seeing significant numbers of Covid cases on the ship.

Two members of our party got Covid and had to isolate in the "red zone" on the ship for 5 of the 12 days of the cruise. This was especially challenging for them because there was very little entertainment on TV. The other issue for them was the fact that their only dining option was room service but because the staff on the isolation floor was overwhelmed by the number of covid cases their meals came late and often missing items. My other issue with Celebrity is the horrible user interface on their website for the booking of a cruise. It is very challenging to find your invoice and see what you have spent before you cruise.

Cabin Review

The cabin was excellent. Large bathroom and lots of storage space.
