First time cruisers. Mum Dad & daughter 11. Reading reviews here from experienced cruisers before we left gave us the wobbles but we needn't have worried.

Embarkation seamless. We are aware you should not arrive too early but taxi dropped us off half hour before. Concerned that we had everything correct armed with copious paperwork. Needn't have worried because were met by warm friendly staff wishing us a lovely holiday. Was onboard within 30 mins. No scary check in. Found our muster station quickly and was in our room half hour early.

Cabin Superior Deluxe Balcony. 1 queen, 1 pull down settee/sofa. Clean, spacious. Champagne & chocolates in fridge. Opened straight away nice touch so exciting! Beautiful little real orchid in room too. Balcony spacious. 2 adjustable chairs, footstool and a little table. Rather battered stained looking but, considering the furniture spends its life outside in all weathers. Bathroom excellent temperature controlled. Could not wait every day to relax in it. White company hand soap, shampoo & shower gel provided. Ample fluffy white towels. Bath robes & slippers. Telly limited choice but who wants to spend their time watching telly on their hols. Daughter really enjoyed watching the free films mind you. Fridge not cold. Didn't chill anything. Mentioned to services and to be fair the engineer came out next day to check only to tell us that a lukewarm fridge was normal. Lovely steward Lal turned our sofa bed down every eve. Friendly, unobtrusive and a pleasure to come back to a neat and tidy room every day. Thank you to the hardworking P&O housekeeping staff. Dining:- set 6.30pm in Bay Tree. Table too ourselves. We had reservations about being stuck to boring rigid timing but were strongly advised to book this dining option before we left by experienced cruisers and so glad we did. No faffing about every eve trying to book a table. Heard from other cruisers on trip on Freedom dining this was a problem for them. Yes same table every night but greeted by same lovely professional waiters (Rabi & Kim) who soon got to know us. Food excellent. It was a treat dressing up and to be fair other cruisers that did not want to dress up were not to be seen. Best pudding I have ever eaten. Blueberry soufflé. Wine waiter knew exactly what we wanted every night and arranged a lovely cocktail for our daughter every evening. Eating early left the rest of our evening to enjoy and left room in our tummies for the midnight buffet! Buffet superb. Spoilt for choice every day. Always busy. Waiters attentive. Never a dirty table so slick. Daughter loved the ice cream selection.
