Excellent itinerary which went further than many ships, touring both the west and east coasts of the Svalbard archipelago . The ship, SH Vega, was stylish and intimate and provided excellent food, service and comfort. Meals were taken in the dining room or on the outside deck when the weather was suitable. On some occasions there was a delicious barbecue on the deck where we could enjoy both the food and the magnificent scenery. Informative lectures were held in the modern lounge where the drinks of your choice were also served in the evenings. Room service was also available. The ship does not offer a casino or evening shows - the emphasis is on what is outside the ship! It does not offer children’s activities.

Excursions were very well organised and maximised our chances to see the wildlife and the scenery. We took zodiac cruises through the edge of the polar ice, across the face of glaciers and along towering bird cliffs. We saw the elusive Arctic Fox, walrus haul outs and polar bears. The cruise concentrated on the wilderness areas and not on any settlements.

Swan Hellenic gave us a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. We have done over 50 cruises including several expedition cruises and this one rates among the best.

Cabin Review

Very well arranged with more than enough storage, a lovely “fire” burning to give a wonderful cozy ambiance, large windows to enjoy the view and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom had a good-sized walk in shower and good space beside the sink. There was a coffee maker on the desk and a fridge which was kept stocked with various soft drinks. The cabin was bright and modern.
