3 generations took a celebratory (50th wedding anniversary) cruise to Alaska. A few things you should know if you're taking the Crown Princess this season (Summer 2022). The propulsion problem that many on Cruise Critic are complaining about is a really big problem! We originally had suites in the far back of the ship. The vibrations from the engines below were SO bad that 2 of the 3 cabins in our party had to relocate. The mirrors in the cabin shook, so not only was it louder than the aft of a ship would normally be, but it also vibrated badly! They moved us to different suites, but the balconies weren't comparable. If you're in the back of the ship, make arrangements now for a new cabin. And know that when you're in some of the restaurants/bars/venues in the back, you're going to feel it shake. We didn't feel like Princess was transparent about these issues ahead of time, and they held info close when we asked about details.

Additionally - we were all disappointed that the Ketchikan port was canceled. 3 excursions got canceled, too. 1 due to weather (helicopter - which we later heard that 75% of heli tours get canceled), and 1 due to staffing of the tour company (bear watching in Icy Strait Point). I'm not sure why the other got canceled (ATV).

Now to the good stuff, because that's what we should be focusing on, right??? The staff was amazing! Activities were fun and entertaining, plenty of hot tubs were available, food was great, there was gorgeous scenery, and Mother Nature kept most of the rain away, so we were grateful. And we were on a cruise with our family making great memories, eating amazing food, drinking all the drinks, so there are lots of things we are grateful for!
